Ultrasound and Emergency Medicine Conferences in Chile

Since 2004 a continuous Emergency Medicine training program has been developed in Chile, and currently the country counts with seven programs and over 150 physicians in-training.

Physician education in India through the George Washington University

Our overarching goal is advancing emergency care in India through developing the physician workforce. EM is still very new in India. It was officially recognized as a specialty by the Medical College of India in 2009, but government-supported training opportunities are still very limited. There are around 30 of these official postgraduate spots in the entire country, with most programs offering 1 or 2 seats, and they lack EM-trained faculty.

We held this Fellowship Showcase event again this year, but also tried something different. As one of the new SAEM “Special Sessions” at the Annual Meeting, we proposed a Global Emergency Medicine Project Showcase.

On behalf of the scientific committee of PEMC 2014, we would like to inform that abstract submission deadline has been EXTENDED upon request.

Considering the requests of several potential contributors and to give all authors the same opportunity of further refining their submission, the Local Organizing Committee decided to extend the submission deadline to 31 August 2014.
